The Center for Business and Training is a Non-Profit 501c3 established in 2002 with a grant from the Appalacian Regional Commission. Our mission is to help raise the technical skills of the people in and around Hagerstown, Maryland.

To that end, we offer affordable classes in computer applications, a computer lab, and support for people interested in learning or improving their computer technical skills. Our primary source of funding comes from leasing secure, private office rentals for small businesses here on the second floor of the Elizabeth Hager Center. This supports our Computer Lab, resources and upkeep of the facility.

Other projects include :

A website focused on the businesses and events in the Hagerstown downtown area. Hager's Downtown is a directory of merchants within a 4 block radius of the downtown square, and links to their websites. This also serves as the home page for the City's electronic information kiosks displays. These are public touch-screen computers that allow people to view the directories and visit business web pages. Currently, there is one in the lobby at City Hall and one at Washington County Public Library's Main Branch.

We offer assistance with helping any interested downtown business with obtaining a web pressence.

We also provide technical support and training for computer groups and individuals in the Hagerstown area.
